Hi – My name is Kelly. I’ve always wanted a tube amp, so I thought I would buy this amp from Monoprice and give it a try. I played my electric guitar though it a couple of times and found the amp had a great sound, but was just too loud for me to use. Now, you can enjoy this tube amp – which is practically brand new – it has maybe a total of 2 hours of gentle use. I have kept the amp in it’s original boxes (it comes double boxed – with the nice foam corner covers), ever since I received it. I have treated it with kit gloves. The amp works as it should. Description: 5-Watt 1×8 Guitar Combo Tube Amplifier with Celestion SpeakerTube Amplifier: An industry standard 12AX7 preamp tube drives a single 6V6GT tube for a well-rounded tone and smooth, rich distortion. Simple Controls: Simple and minimalist controls keep the circuit clean and the tone pure, making it perfect for pedals. Celestion Super 8 Speaker: Well-balanced mids and highs complement a surprisingly meaty bottom end. Classic Styling: Enjoy the tone and styling of the 40’s and 50’s with the classic cream-colored, textured, synthetic leather exterior with chrome corner guards. Give it about 20 hours of playing time and it really warms up for a smooth, buttery sound that still punches through the mix. It has a Low input, which attenuates the signal by about half and makes it easier to overdrive, and a High input, which gives full power with more headroom and volume. The cabinet has an open back and features a leather handle, cloth speaker grill, and a cream-colored, textured, synthetic leather exterior with chrome corner guards. While tone is always debatable, the increased dynamic range and even-order harmonic distortion of tubes produces the better sound. The amp features separate volume and tone controls, a 1-watt/5-watt button, and an 8-inch Celestion speaker, all contained within a solid frame with classic, cream styling.
