HUM 255 4/0 “A Stitch In Time” – TMK-6 Height 3.375″ Tall The full size figurine was first released in the U.S. market in 1964. Originally modeled by a combination of master sculptors in 1962. In 1990, a new miniature size figurine was issued with a suggested retail price of $65 to match a new miniature plate series called the “Little Homemakers” – one each year for four years. This is the third in the series. It has an incised 1987 copyright date along with the TMK-6 trademark, the earliest version. This figurine is similar to Hummel Number 256 “Knitting Lesson” and Hummel Number 177 “School Girls”. The hummels produced for sale initially have this TMK-6 backstamp, however with production being limited to just one year before switching over to the TMK-7 trademark, there are fewer found with this TMK-6 trademark. Production of this figurine continued until December 31st 1997, when this miniature size was Temporalily Withdrawn (TW) from production by Goebel. The original size was renumbered 255/1 and the old number 255 is now classified as a closed edition (CE) due to the 255 4/0 issuance. The large size was Withdrawn from production in January 1999. This is a closed edition (CE). See below for the specifications: New Open Box – Hummel was stored in attic with dozens of other hummels. Only opened box to inspect and provide accurate item description for this listing. (Never Displayed!) Has Goebel Missing Bee Trademark (TMK-6) stamped in Blue on underside of base. This is the earliest version released, first available trademark for the miniature size. Total numbers of TMK-6 were limited due to only one year of production. Incised Hummel Number “255 4/0”, Factory Control Number “19” and Copyright Date “1987” on underside of base. Incised “M.I. Hummel” on rear side of base. Oversized – Hummel exceeds the catalog’s listed height of 3″ by Three Eighths of an inch, standing at about 3.375″ tall. Master Painter Hand-signed signature with year (89) in black on underside of base, located to the right of TMK-6 stamp. Name Card Display – Hummel has original foldable Name Card Display in both English and German. (Still Unfolded!) This figurine is the third in the “Little Homemakers” series, released in 1990. Comes with Name Card Display and original box with foam inserts. This size was Temporalily Withdrawn (TW) from production by Goebel on December 31st 1997. Closed Edition.
