The 80s was an amazing part of history, and in many different ways. The music, I think, may be the most creative and profound part of that crazy decade. Today we have a really cool four pack of vinyl records from the 80s, featuring new wave and freestyle bands that were all considered to be dance pop! First up is electro freestyle legend Noel, and a first press copy of his debut album, released in 1987. Noel Pagan dropped his last name, and the world knew him as simply ‘Noel’. (Not many male artists went by only one name at that time.) Bronx born Noel finished that first album, and it was originally released in a plain black die-cut sleeve. Once it started selling really well, they put it in a jacket with a pic of him on the cover! That great debut album gave us the hits “Silent Morning” and “Like a Child”. Noel made the big time, as the album was distributed by Island Records, a major label. This comes in a black die-cut sleeve, as mentioned, with a hype sticker on one side. The vinyl itself looks great except for one mark across the last three songs on the B side (none of the hits). Next up is another dance pop freestyle all female band named Sweet Sensation. The song is “Hooked on You”, and is one of their biggest hits! It’s the edited remix and the album version on one side, and version two and the instrumental on the other side. Comes in a plain and generic black die-cut sleeve, with a cut-out notch. The record looks great, and is shiny and clean. Sleeve has some wear on it, but nothing too bad. Then we have Icehouse, who started out as a moody and atmospheric new wave band from of the UK. Icehouse formed in ’77, but didn’t release their first album until 1981. That first album is here, and check out the title track. (“Icehouse”, by Icehouse, and on the album ‘Icehouse’!) Over the next few LPs, the band morphed into a synth-pop band, and had hits with songs like “Crazy” and “Electric Blue”. Another song, “No Promises”, ended up being a big hit in clubs, and that 12″ is also here! The debut album is in awesome condition, and the vinyl is still shiny and clean. The jacket looks great but with the top right corner cut, to signify that this is a cut-out. The 12″ for “No Promises” looks great, and is also shiny and clean. The A side is the nearly NINE minute long club mix, and some writing on the label (why, Gary K…why? Lol). The B side (which has no handwriting on the label) includes a dub mix and an instrumental. Comes in a plain black die-cut sleeve. Vinyl looks great, and is shiny and clean. Sleeve holding up really well. Groove to these classic tracks by three different 80s bands, all who made great music, and all who are here on vinyl! The warm, rich sound of analog on a good sound system will shake the walls, get your feet going, and make you smile. Grab this four piece bundle now.
